Shake Shack – the legendary burger joint from New York City – made waves when it opened in Malaysia at TRX Exchange back in April 2024. Now, it’s shaking things up again with the launch of a brand new ShackMeister menu, available for a limited time only from now until 31 December 2024!

Fans of the brand will know the legendary ShackMeister Burger, which was first launched at the 2014 Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival’s Burger Bash, where it earned the title of “Best Burger” and quickly became a guest favourite. The iconic burger now graces the Kuala Lumpur outlet with a flavour-packed experience, with a 100% all-natural beef cheeseburger topped with crispy fried shallots and sandwiched between lightly toasted potato buns.

The KL branch is perched atop the mall, close to the flagship Apple store and surrounded by lush greenery. Interiors are modern and trendy, with a touch of NYC hip.

We tried the three signature items: the ShackMeister Burger, the ShackMeister Sausage, and ShackMeister fries.
The burger deserved the top spot as it came in hefty portions, brimming with crispy fried shallots atop a juicy beef patty that was salty and flavourful but not overly greasy. There was a fair amount of melted American cheese, which added a bright sharpness and acted as a binding element. The potato buns were soft with a hint of sweetness to them, but held firm enough to encase the ingredients within. Everything tasted premium and complimented each other perfectly – easily a 9/10!
The thick-cut fries were equally good, loaded with thick melted cheese and topped with shallots. What we found impressive was that the shallots did not go soggy even after being on the plate for awhile, and did not feel oily either, which is common when it comes to deep fried shallots.

Rounding off the trio was the ShackMeister Sausage. The sausage was a tad dry and on the salty side, but we could really taste the meat flavour over the cheese and shallots. The bun here is softer than the burger.

Finishing the meal on a sweet note, we tried the Cookies & Cream Shake, which is made with Shake Shack’s signature vanilla custard mixed with cookie crumbles and topped with whipped cream. The texture was perfect – creamy but not too thick, and with a nice level of sweetness to if after the heavy flavours.
