Hi! I’m Eris — a freelance writer and editor based in Kuala Lumpur, with over a decade of professional writing experience. I started my career in news at The Star, Malaysia’s largest English-language newspaper, with stints in property, education, and B2B. But I always find my way back to what I love most: food, travel, and experiences. Today, I contribute to titles including Epicure Asia, Solitaire Magazine, Jet Gala, City Living, and Design and Architecture Magazine.

Eris Goes To documents my ongoing exploration of the world: from hole-in-the-wall dim sum spots to luxury cruises in the Indian Ocean, weekend escapes across Southeast Asia to long-haul adventures further afield. The common thread is a genuine curiousity about what makes a place, a plate, or an experience worth your time. Most of the reviews, guides, and stories here are written from firsthand experience.

What you’ll find here

  • Travel — Hotel reviews, destination guides, and itinerary ideas across Asia and beyond, with a particular love for Southeast Asia.
  • Food — Restaurant reviews and dining discoveries, from casual neighbourhood finds to special-occasion tables.
  • Lifestyle — Events, culture, beauty, and the little things that make everyday life more interesting.

Eris Goes To works with hotels, restaurants, tourism boards, and lifestyle brands that share a commitment to quality experiences. For collaborations and enquiries, get in touch.

  1. Hello Eris! Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking one of my posts. You have such a lovely blog. Best wishes to you. 🙂

  2. Wait, a second blog? What happened to the other one?

    1. Hey! Nah, it was getting unwanted attention so I made it private and made a more family-friendly new one. 😀 How have u been?

      1. Unwanted attention? Haha. Well, this looks better (and much less personal D:) anyway. Been fine; work (and gaming) is sucking my time out of my own blog.

      2. Aw, thanks. I want to promote it as more of a info blog rather than just an online diary now. Ru still working at the same place ?

      3. Dude… I quit like two years ago. This is what happens when people abruptly stop talking to each other.

  7. Hi Eris

Thanks for the follow! How have you been and how’s your blog doing?
I don’t know if you know that I moved my blog to a self-hosted platform. This has prevented me from connecting with WordPress bloggers like I used to. I would still like to remain in contact with your blog. Do you have an RSS feed I can subscribe to?
If you would still like to follow my blog, may I add you to my mailing list? I send out one email per day with all the blogs posted for the day including blogging tips. You can also unsubscribe at any time if you feel you want to stop receiving the emails. If you are happy for me to subscribe you, please send me your email address.
Also, I created a blogger tips group to connect with all my long last WordPress blogger friends, and to help all of us to learn from each other. I would love for you to share your knowledge in the group and connect with other bloggers. Here’s the link:

I’ve definitely stumbled upon yours a few months ago before starting my own, and your posts were precisely the kind of things I liked: helpful info about good eats and neat places in KL and abroad. Very cool to be noticed by senpai all this time later 🙂 Good luck on your future endeavours!
