*I know I said I’d be doing the 30 Day Writing Challenge for NaNoWriMo, but I’m faltering … and this is like what, the 6th day? :’D I was pretty psyched to do it initially, but my part-time boss gave me some assignments to do and now it seems like I won’t have enough hours in a day to complete everything lol.

Nevertheless, here’s what I’m going to do (or at least try to, ha) – post as many Challenge posts as I can, interspersed with regular entries – so that I’ll still be posting something everyday. Desperate times call for desperate measures!

A pork noodle place by day, steamboat resto by night, Harbour Steamboat probably has one of the best pork noodles in Puchong – in my opinion, at least! While it’s a bit on the pricey side, the signature bowl comes chock full of ingredients, in a generous portion.

The soup comes with a mix of offal, tender pork slices and seafood such as shrimp and squid, topped with fried pieces of lard for an extra fragrant aroma. Diners can opt between several types of noodles, but my favourite is mee xian, which is at type of rice noodle with a soft, almost mushy texture.

The star of the dish is definitely the soup, which is clear and sweet, flavourful and packed with porky goodness.

If you’re a small eater, one bowl can even be shared between two persons.

They definitely aren’t stingy on ingredients. The shrimp was huge! And fresh as well. Although the price is RM14++, I think it’s quite worth it. The dining area is air conditioned and comfortable.
