More Italian Food at Enorme @ PJ Centrestage Section 13

They say that third time’s the charm… and so it was on my recent visit to Enorme at PJ Centrestage, Section 13 PJ. Ever since K brought me here for a taste of authentic Italian food, I’ve been hooked on their wood-oven pizzas, delectable pastas and awesome antipasti. This time around, I brought another group of friends. Good things should be shared, right?

Jo and I were the first to arrive, so I got an Iced Chocolate to sip on while waiting. The drink itself is sweet on its own, but if you want to go borderline diabetic, it comes served with a small jug of syrup.

For starters, we got the Portobellodeep fried battered duo portobello served with sauteed chicken strips and sliced onions au jus. Haven’t had the chance to tuck into these giant mushrooms before – and I wasn’t disappointed! 🙂 Despite being drenched in sauce, it still retained a crispy, crunchy batter on the outside whilst being juicy and soft on the inside. It didn’t leave a greasy aftertaste in the mouth either. Onions were sauteed well, not soggy or limp, while the chicken strips were tender. Sauce was a bit on the salty side; but I like my food to be well-flavoured so this was right up my alley.

I’ve raved about how good the Prosciutto Pizza is here, and this time was no exception. Nothing beats a crispy crust covered in salty strips of cured ham on a tomato base. The salad leaves and cheese portion seemed to have diminished, but the taste was still good.

The Quattro Formagi  – consisting of Fontina, Gorgonzola, Tallegio Cheese, White Cheese and Mozarella was a good choice for our vegetarian friend. Tastewise it was decent, although I couldn’t really tell the difference between the cheeses since they were all mixed up together. xD

The pizzas come in three sizes, Personal, Large and Enorme (21″) which is ideal for sharing between five persons or more.

Definitely making this my regular joint for my Italian fix, and I’m looking forward to trying out more dishes. 🙂

It was still early so we adjourned to a dessert place – the Yoghurt and Chocolate House, where they serve yoghurt, chocolate desserts, pancakes, waffles, as well as Western/local food like pasta, fries and chops. Ventilation needs improvement in the shop because there was a funny smell of stale food hanging in the air, which was a real turn off for me. The chocolate cake was too thick and dry for me.

The yoghurt had a weird aftertaste, almost like unpasteurized milk. We kept telling each other it was weird, but we still managed to finish it lol. But this will probably be my first and last visit.
