I recently moved to Cyberjaya.

It’s a chill place, but being a Muslim-majority area, it’s difficult to find non-halal dining options that suit my palate, unless I’m making the food myself. Which is why I’m happy that D Pulze Cyberjaya has a Go Noodle House, the only non-halal restaurant in the mall. At least there’s one place for my pork fix lol.

The Hubs and I came here for brunch before our weekly grocery shopping. The decor is pretty standard across all Go Noodle House outlets, with interiors made to resemble a traditional Chinese inn, complete with wooden stools, window frames, portraits of emperor-like figures, and signages in Chinese declaring “Best Noodles in the World”. The place was empty, so we got our food fast.

My usual order at other Go Noodle House branches would be the mi xian, but decided to try something new this time. Both the Hubs and I got the Hakka Sauce Pan Mee with Onsen Egg, which came topped with fried anchovies, a smattering of spring onions, fried shallots, minced pork, and woodear fungus. You crack the soft boiled egg yourself and mix the runny yolk into the noodles, making it smooth and silky.

This was decent! Excepting the wood ear fungus, which had a strange, bitter aftertaste, everything else came together cohesively. The noodles were made well with an al dente texture (you can choose between thin or thick noodles – I got the thick), the egg gave it a creamy consistency, and the savoury sauce prevented the noodles from being too dry. I also got an extra add-on of ‘bursting cheese’ porkballs – they’re basically pork balls with cheese filling in them.

Our meal for two with one soft drink came up to RM41. It’s still affordable for the setting, but I’ve been on a tight budget lately so it’s not going to be on a regular basis. Eating out has been a pain in Cyberjaya because there aren’t many economical non-halal options (only one Chinese economy rice, as far as I know) so I’ve been doing a lot more cooking.

But yeah. If you’re looking for a spot that serves pork in D Pulze, Go Noodle House is the only option.

I’ll be exploring more places in Cyberjaya soon, so stay tuned!
