I spend most weekends sleeping in until noon, and I hardly ever budge from the couch or the TV – unless if it’s to get junk food. I’ve been promising myself that I’ll go to bed earlier…and breaking that promise every single night. It doesn’t help that inspiration (for writing.. but mostly doing random nonsense. Like counting the hairs on my knuckles) only hits in the wee hours of the morning. My brain isn’t what it used to be these days. Signs of growing old. It’s kinda like in a permanent state of post-caramel vanilla frappucino. Heavy, sluggish.

Speaking of the devil…
Le Caramel Vanilla Frappucino.

Or something along those lines.
Colleagues brought me to this place called Dr.Cafe in Citta Mall, Ara Damansara. Serves very good coffee and cakes. It can be overwhelmingly sweet to some people but I’m a sugar addict all the way, so if you like something milder, you’d be better off trying something else.

Ice Blended Chocolate Chillino, Pacific Coffee Company.
There’s this joke about how chocolate and men share common characteristics:
1) You find them in bars.
2) They head straight for your thighs.
3) They can never last long enough to satisfy you.
True, that. But chocolates never lie to you or break your heart. WIN.

Fried chicken patties with salad, mayo dip and wedges.
@32 Bistro and Bar, Bandar Putri Puchong.
The patties weren’t too dry, fried just right without being too batter-ish and with just enough taste. Went really well with the mayo dip. Wedges weren’t anything special though, tasted like KFC wedges.

Chicken Spaghetti Bolognaise.

Portion was generous, but a little on the salty side. The tomato sauce was good though : the sweet-sourish taste of tomato puree coupled with chunks of fresh crunchy tomatoes really whets the appetite.

Chicken and mushroom pasta in Cajun Cream sauce.

Not really Cajun-y. Again, portion was filling. Cream sauce kinda tasted like Jigs cheese crackers aka overwhelming after more than a few bites. Wasn’t bad, but wasn’t Boom!either.
Ambiance-wise, pretty good place. They serve tapas, cocktails and other bar-like drinks with kinky names like ‘Sex on the Beach‘ and ‘Blowjob‘. Promos are on Sunday where you get 25% off selected items. Price-wise, a little on the pricey side compared to most bistros, about RM20-40ish.
Uh, so. It’s been a productive weekend for the stomach,  not the scales.
