Of Birds and Indian Food

So it was just another morning getting ready for work when….

I saw this fat bird sitting on my windshield! At first I thought it had its leg stuck because it didnt move even when I took my phone out and leaned close to it for a picture. I tried lifting my wiper, but then noticed that it wasn’t stuck. Maybe it was injured, so I tried to touch it, but it flapped its wings at me and then flew off….

And settled at my mom’s car.

Looking at how fat it is, perhaps it’s pregnant and looking for a place to lay its eggs?

By the way I am looking up the lottery number I should buy for ‘pregnant bird’. lol.

Lunch with colleagues at the Indian restaurant. Ever had banana leaf rice? It’s a variety of smaller meat/veggie dishes in curries/spicy sauces, served on a banana leaf with rice.

Tried Mushroom Rawa Thosai for the first time. It’s thosai stuffed with mushroom masala.

Taste was pretty good, albeit a little spicy.

Random post. Kbai!

Kitties at A&W Puchong Permai, Puchong

Why pay extravagant prices at a cat cafe when you can play with the furry kitties at your neighbourhood A&W?

This sweetie responds to ‘miming’. I suspect the A&W staff feed her because she is unafraid of humans and keeps popping into the air-conditioned area whenever someone opens the door (the staff carried her outside several times). She seems to be the resident cat, because the last couple of months I was here she was already walking around the place. She likes to sit in the decorative box dividing the petrol station outside with the restaurant’s outdoor patio, next to the plants.

There was also a male tabby. It was hugeee. Didn’t pet it because it looked mean, like the kind filled with testosterone and wont hesitate to scratch your eyes out. It sat at the foot of my chair lol.

Simon and I had our usual unhealthy dose of cheesy beef and chicken nachos.

Don’t judge, I don’t have them very often. 😛

Nothing like an ice cold root beer in 32 degree Celcius weather.

February is one of the hottest months in Malaysia, so we’re all bracing ourselves for the scorching sun and prolonged periods without rain. Drink lots of water and don’t get dehydrated! 🙂

Hello, City Folks

Some shots of Kuala Lumpur after attending an assignment in the city.

Food demonstration by local chef Rohani Jelani ! Now I can understand why she’s so popular – the stuff she prepared was so good. o_o The theme was avocado, and she managed to incorporate it with both sweet and savoury dishes. The sampler included (clockwise from top left): fruit and avocado tart, salsa salad with diced tomatoes, sweet apples and avocado, tuna, butter and avocado sandwich, and buttered avocado scones.

Everything was really good, but I never knew salsa salad could taste so refreshing and cool with avocado in it. The burst of sweet, fresh ingredients went so well with the savoury, crunchy nacho chips. The buttered scones had a great aroma and texture as well!

Enjoying a sweet slice signature banana toffee cake at Tipsy O Brew’ Cafe, Setiawalk Puchong. This is one of my favourite hangout spots coz of the cozy, quiet interior where one can have coffee and cake over a good book. *Bliss*. It’s not too expensive as well (average about RM10 for a cake and another RM10 for drinks.) But that’s not the best part…

They serve Forty Licks ice-cream here wtf.

Forty Licks is a local, handcrafted ice-cream brand. Ohgoodlordy their name is apt, because one lick is definitely not enough. They have a number of flavours, such as Milk Chocolate and Peanut Butter(above),Salted Caramel, Pistachio and many more. My fave is still MCaPB though. It’s smooth, rich, thick and creamy – as good as the Molly Cow ones I had in Sheffield! This is the only place where I can this brand, so ;w; I’m a regular patron just for the mindblowing ice-cream. It’s simple, not OTT but oh-so-satisfying.

More stuff to come!

30 Day Challenge Day 13

Three confessions of your choice.

My my, juicy confessions. *rubs hands in glee*

Meh it’s not fun when it’s your own. Here they are:

1) When at work and I disappear from my seat for long periods of time, chances are I’m playing Candy Crush or napping on the toilet seat. K THERE I SED IT DONT TELL MY BAUS.

2) I talk to cats as if they are babies.

3) I give imaginary rockstar interviews in the shower. Yeah.

30 Day Challenge Day 8

Jinxing myself.

I just mentioned in my previous 30 day challenge entry that I haven’t missed a single day yet. And now I’ve skipped two days consecutively. Not that I did it on purpose..I’ve been sick. Massive headaches, violent chills in the middle of the night, fever, cough and flu. I don’t usually fall sick, but when I do it’s like everybody comes to visit at the same time.

Anyway, since I’m resting at home, might as well do a couple of challenges that I missed.

Three things you want to say to different people.

This is hard. However talkative I appear in my blogs (judging from the endless blabbing in my entries), I am a very quiet person in real life. People who are close to me know I’m outwardly stoic and solid. In fact, the few close girl friends I have, have all told me that if I were a guy, they’d marry me coz I’m reliable and a good listener*wtf is that a compliment?*

Which is why I’m not good at telling people stuff face to face. Writing, on the other hand, is much easier. Anyway…

To the Parents

Somewhere along the lines, I grew up, and you grew older. With work commitments and what not, sometimes I forget to pay as much attention as I’d like to other things, like spending time with you, or just telling you how much you mean to me. I know you won’t be around forever, but I choose to look past the gray hairs sprouting over your heads and pretend you will be, because I cannot imagine how life would be like without you.

So the next time I’m being a neurotic bitch, I need to remind myself that my parents are the best in the world and the things they do are out of love. I am forever grateful to you for bringing me up to be the person I am today.I know in your eyes, I’ll always be the bubbly little girl I was as a child. And I just want to say I love you. 🙂

To the Best Friend

Thank you for being there for me through times good and bad. I know it’s a difficult time for you right now, and I wish I could be by your side. I know you’re a strong person and that you’ll make it through all the challenges. Just know that if you ever need a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen to, I’m here for you. Stay strong, girl. And I pray for your safe delivery. Can’t wait to be a godmom!

To the Bullies

It’s been a long time, but the psychological trauma from the pain you inflicted me has gone well into my adult life. I try not to let it affect the quality of my everyday life, but sometimes it’s hard when you have feelings of rejection, being an outcast and inadequacy due to the years back in school. I know you were probably young and stupid when you did those things, but there was no reason to do so.

Youtube Ads

Lately whenever I open a Youtube video, it plays me ads I do not want to see.

I was just *attempting to* listen to one of my favourite rock bands when some perky K-pop group came up and started spewing upbeat Korean tunes into my ears. They friggin bled coz I had it on full blast.

Imagine this scenario: You hate death metal. You like classical music. You opened a Youtube video expecting the soothing cadences of Mozart to flow into your mind. Instead Dani Filth screams into your ears.

Well, that’s how it was for me. Meh…

Everybody skips them anyway, youtube!

30 Day Challenge Day 4

Explain the meaning behind your Tumblr Name.

I used to be an avid Tumblr-er, but I got bored of it and it has since been abandoned.. forever.

Me tumblr blog name is  septemberstardust.

Coz I was born in September, and stardust sounds hipster-ish and mystical and it rhymes with S.
