It has been eight years since I set foot at Sky Ranch in Tagaytay – and the amusement park has certainly changed much. While some of the staple rides, including the park’s signature Sky Eye Ferris Wheel, the Super Viking pirate ship, carousel, as well as pony rides are still around, more sections and rides have been added over the years.

What remains unchanged, though, is the beautiful view. My previous trip here was in the afternoon, so this time afforded N and I gorgeous sunset views of Taal Lake, Taal Volcano, Tagaytay City, and the lush, hilly landscapes of Cavite and Batangas, set admist tapestry of gold, pink, purple, and blue.

As an attraction, Sky Ranch fits well into Tagaytay’s positioning as a weekend / domestic holiday destination, with its family-friendly rides and facilities. It was packed during our visit (it was Christmas week), which meant that queues for each ride had long waiting times.
N and I opted to just pay the P100 entrance fee so we could stroll around. There are options to pay per ride (about P150), or you can go for the All-You-Can-Ride Pass, available for sale at the counter, or purchased in advance on Klook.

Even without going on the rides, the entrance fee is worth it just for these breathaking panoramas alone!
If you’re an adrenaline junkie, they also have a zipline which takes you sailing across from one end of the park to the other with nothing between you and the valley below.

Like any amusement park worth its salt, Sky Ranch has lots of carnival game booths where you can win your sweetheart a prize of a giant soft toy – a good idea for date nights! Family-friendly games and rides abound too, such as Wonder Flight (a balloon-themed ride), Nessi Coaster, Express Train, and Mini Viking (a mini version of the pirate ship).

The central area is covered and houses a variety of souvenir and snack vendors.

As the sun sets, the park turns into a colourful spectacle of neon lights. Unfortunately, we had to cut our stroll short to look for a restroom at a mall, since the toilets were so crowded – but we still managed to spend over an hour soaking in the sights and the bustling atmosphere.

If you enjoy amusement parks with a fun atmosphere and stunning views, then Sky Ranch should be on your itinerary of places to visit while in Tagaytay! Here’s a useful guide from The Poor Traveler on how to get there.
