Just wanted to put it out here that I might not be updating this space as often.
April is going to be a crazy month because of added responsibilities.
They’ve finally decided to let me put together an issue of our magazine, which means that I’ll be in charge of checking everything from A-Z: commissioning stories, preparing the flat plan, sending it for subbing/proofreading/checking the ozalid, etc. This is IN ADDITION to my regular print writing/digital editor duties.
I wish they had prepped me a bit before suddenly pushing all this stuff on me, but that’s life lol. Opportunities won’t wait for you if you don’t grab ’em.
I’m still doing my part time gig. I’m really tempted to let that go for now but the employer has been good and has given me extended deadlines. He’s also a good paymaster, so I feel bad about turning it down. We’ll see. I don’t want to burn out.
Course, not complaining. I’m one of the lucky ones. How many people can say that they enjoy their work? Sure, it has ups and downs, but what job doesn’t? Most importantly, I’m learning new things and earning extra moolah.
Til then, wish me luck!
Here’s a song break for your humpday, from one of my favourite bands 🙂
So I’m back from Aus and I had a great time! Too much food and wine has taken its toll on me though (such a first world problem D:) and I fell sick on the last day – no thanks to Melbourne’s crazy weather that went from a mild 20+C to a freezing 8C. I lasted until my flight home, where I promptly developed a fever onboard (because of the crazy cold air conditioning). Came back, finally went to see a doctor, and she gave me two days emcee because my throat was so bad (quote unquote: What have you been eating!?)
Feeling better today, and there’s a tonne of work waiting for me to finish, so I might not be able to update as often.
Hey guys! Sorry I haven’t been blogging – been really busy with a new job that I started on Monday. So far so good, but the travel time is just.. ugh. I spend three hours travelling to-and-fro from work, which means that I only get home around 8pm. There’s barely time to do anything else apart from shower, dinner, a quick rest and sleep. Don’t even have time to work out anymore 😦
On the upside, the office is housed in a pretty cosy place. There are a few chic cafes downstairs, one which serves awesome latte. There’s even a Pokestop downstairs 😛
There are a lot of backlogged posts to upload; I’ll try to put some up soon coz I’ll be busy over the weekend too with a cousin’s wedding 😡
So I’ll be flying off to Bandung tomorrow for a short getaway with the family! Pretty excited coz it’s my first family trip in years (the last was to Bali, in 2013). My mum hasn’t been feeling too well and I want to spend as much time as possible with her…. (Even though this is my second overseas trip in the span of four months and it’s making a big hole in my pocket lol.)
I’m also really looking forward to seeing a real (and active) volcano up close for the first time + meeting up with my Stickam friend, Liv. It has been two years since she came to KL. Wow, time flies.
