You know the joke about how our phones are eavesdropping on our conversations – because it always seems like it knows what ads to recommend even when you didn’t search for something?

I, for one, believe it’s true. How else would my socmed platforms know I was looking for a new co-working space to work from, right after I complained to my husband how busy and noisy my usual spot had gotten?

But yes – that’s how I found LUME, a new co-working space located at Level 5, Block E, Tamarind Square, Cyberjaya. It’s basic but cosy and brightly lit, with a beautiful view of the surrounding greenery.

While most co-working spaces have facilities such as phone booths (for making calls) or meeting rooms for discussions, LUME is designed as a quiet zone, so it’s best for focus sessions / if you need to get stuff done without distractions. There are plenty of wall sockets for you to plug into, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a small pantry where you can get free flow of snacks / infused water. They also sell coffee at affordable prices, for those who need a quick boost.

Need a break? Stretch out at the lounge area and flip through some of the books.

View from the front of the coworking space. They say looking at something green is great for reducing stress and eyestrain.

Another thing I like about this place: they open until 10pm, instead of the usual 9-6.

While there are no loud meetings and discussions going on, I found myself distracted (in the best way possible)… by kitties. There are a few of them wandering around the corridor in front of the space.

If you need a quiet place in Cyberjaya to get some work done, LUME is a good choice. Prices are quite reasonable too, starting from RM15 per hour, and RM18.50 for 1-3 hour focus sessions.

LUME CO WORKING SPACE

E3-05-06, Level 5, Block E3, Tamarind Square, Persiaran Multimedia, Cyber 10, 63000 Cyberjaya, Selangor

Opening h0urs: 10AM – 10PM (Weds-Mon), 3PM – 10PM (Fri), 10AM – 11PM (Sat).

How to get there: Tamarind Square is like a maze (not withstanding the confusing instructions, and the fact that sometimes even the guards don’t know where they’re pointing you to lol. The easiest way is to look for the pickleball court in the centre court, find Zen Alchemy Spa along its perimeter, then go up the stairs next to it)
