Last week, S and I were having a cuppa at Ground Eatery when this brightly lit store across the road caught my eye. We hopped on over to MiX, an imported snacks store which sells all sorts of cutesy food items, mainly from Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan and China.
Catering mostly to a young, Malaysian Chinese clientele, the store has a large selection of snacks and drinks, from cookies and chips to instant noodles and even sauces! There were many unique flavours and brands that I had never seen before. One thing most of them had in common? Attractive packaging! Makes one feel like buying them just so you can keep them! 😀
I mean, look at these Pokemon-inspired canned drinks from Taiwan!
Pikachu is Cucumber Flavoured for some reason.
Like the Japanese, the Taiwanese love their packaging. Everything looks too cute to be opened!
Minion candy from Japan.
The instant noodle aisle. No Maggi Kari here lol.
Saw these interesting milk cans from Thailand. They’re in a tin and you drink them by opening up the can from the top.
The quintessential Thai ‘Yakult’! It was rather pricey (RM9.90) but it’s not everyday that you find these here in Malaysia.
On S’s suggestion, I also got a Samyang Cheese Chicken Ramen noodles.
^Looks lyddis. Image from lelong.com.my coz I forgot to take one.
It was friggin spicy! I love how chewy the noodles were though and the cheese flavour was strong enough that it wasn’t overpowered by the spiciness.
MiX has several locations in and around the Klang Valley, as well as in Penang and Ipoh, so drop by for a visit if you’re looking for imported snacks! 🙂
