This post has been lying around for a bit coz I haven’t had time to edit the pictures.., but I was at Tanzini’s @ GTower, KL on my birthday. Not to celebrate, but to work (perils of having your birthday falling on a weekday!). I was there to cover the launch of a property book, but I did get a free meal, so it was all good. 🙂
Offering ‘modern European cuisine’ with an emphasis on farm fresh foods, Tanzini has classy decor, with a beautiful view of the KL skyline from the 28th floor.
Appetiser: a very light, crunchy salad with a sweet coconut (?) jelly, strips of saffron and thin slices of beetroot with cold lobster meat.
Wild Mushroom soup with croutons. Interesting texture – felt more like finely chopped mushrooms with sauce instead of a soup.
Lamb neck. The meat was lean with just the tiniest hint of fat and a flaky, stringy texture. Sopped up the jus with it, but it wasn’t the best dish of the night as despite the sauces, it still felt dry in the mouth.
Dessert counter : watermelon slice, chocolate cake, pavlova and tiramisu.
Amazing view !
Tanzini’s lower deck. They also have an upper deck with more dining options.
The food was okay but the servers seemed a little cold and unprofessional, the way they talked. Maybe they were just hassled.
