Simon and I were having our (bi?) weekly yumcha session, and we decided to go to The Beatz in Bandar Putri, Puchong. The last time I stumbled on this cozy little cafe I only had a drink, so this time around I was determined to try their Korean fried chicken.
Brick wall interior, coffee bean sacks, books and mag corner. Overall, very comfy and nice a place to chill with friends for hours. It was quiet for a weekend night.
Simon had (right) hot chocolate with marshmallows. They weren’t stingy with the marshmallows – drink came chock full of them, and it was drizzled over with chocolate syrup. I had (left) caramel machiatto, which had just the right sweetness and aroma from the coffee beans. What I really like about the drinks here is that they not only taste good but are cheaper than a lot of cafes out there. My iced macchiato was only RM7.90, while other places could easily be RM10++!
For the chicken, we had two flavours – spicy Thai, and original. The spicy Thai was tossed in a sweet Thai chilli sauce, while the original had a sweet honey-like glaze over it. While it was pretty good, my only qualm is that the chicken wasn’t very fresh because it had that frozen meat taste on the inside. Room for improvement. Otherwise, the sauces were quite good. The only way to eat this is with your fingers!
