[UPDATE] This restaurant is now permanently closed.
I was looking for lunch around Bandar Puteri Puchong after meeting up with my coach when I stumbled across this (rather empty) cafe called The Beatz. It’s cutesy murals and brick-wall facade screamed typical hipster joint. Didn’t have many food items on the menu, so I went for dimsum instead and came back here for a drink. The interior looked cosy, and a couple of wooden pallets were being converted into tables. There was also a corner with some good novels and reading materials. Good place to chill for hours with a laptop.
True to its music-themed name, there were vinyl records decorating one side of the wall. A display shelf showed cakes, baked goods, cold pressed juices and beer.
The outdoor area has cute drawings, high wooden stools and tables.
Since I was just grabbing a drink, I had their iced honey latte (RM6.90). The price is extremely affordable, seeing that many cafes charge at least RM10 for a drink these days. The coffee was good too – hint of sweetness from the honey, but still quite bitter and strong-tasting, which is how I like my coffee. The cafe apparently specialises in Korean fried chicken, which I’d love to try next time.
My only qualms is the limited parking space.. there are a couple of banks here and the lunch hour parking is nuts.
