Looking for a good porky place without having to burn a big hole in your pocket? Drop by one of the older pub-diner style establishments in the Damansara Kim neighbourhood, Euro Deli.
Specialising in porky dishes, the restaurant has a deli area where you can buy meat products. Malaysia being a Muslim-majority country, pork is harder to find but you can still get good restos if you know where to look. Euro Deli is one of these. 🙂
Each dish comes with a complimentary soft roll with a pat of salted butter. Warm, toasty and fluffy.
I had Farmer’s Bratwurst (RM25.90) – a fat, juicy sausage with onion sauce, sauerkraut and mashed potato. Porky, packed with juices and seasoned just right, I soaked up each piece with savoury onion gravy. The mashed potato was creamy, thick and buttery. Sauerkraut is not really my thing, but I picked out all the bacon bits from it lol.
J’s Mixed Roast with Knuckle, Ribs and Pork Belly (RM39.90) with mushroom sauce, mashed potatoes and red cabbage.
The portion was big enough to satisfy even hardcore meat lovers. Tried a bit of the roast pork belly – it was like Chinese siew yuk with a touch of European-style sweet glaze.
Roast Pork knuckle (RM79.90) . Also amazeballs. I don’t know how to describe it other than that it has a melt-off-the-bone texture, well-flavoured meat and crispy, crackly skin.
Euro Deli is definitely worth the trip to Damansara Kim if you’re a pork lover. If you’re feeling ravenous and are up for a challenge, try the Matterhorn Burger – a 9″ x 6″ whopper that you need to chow down within 45 mins for your photo in their Hall of Fame, and RM300 cash prize money. If you can take on 2.75kg of meat, cheese and veggies, that is.
