The food truck culture is growing in the Klang Valley like mushrooms in the rain – not that I’m complaining! With the cost of everything going up, I guess it’s cheaper to run a mobile food truck instead of a traditional brick and mortar business.
While on assignment at Putrajaya yesterday, I spotted one parked outside the Putrajaya Corporation building. Wheeloaf serves freshly pressed paninis and grilled cheese sandwiches. Feeling somewhat ravenous coz I skipped my breakfast, I opted for a pulled beef panini to go.
The meal came with a small serving of nachos drizzled over with cheese sauce.
Verdict: The pulled beef was good – not too stringy or tough, with a generous amount of barbecue sauce and fresh lettuce. The bread was warm and toasty. The panini is quite large, enough for a substantial meal, and cut into easy to eat halves. My only qualm is they might have gone a little overboard with the flavours. It was quite salty and I felt very thirsty afterwards.
RM13.90 for this filling meal. They also have other selections like grilled cheese sandwiches with chicken and beef.
